Hmmmm...

Me (speaking loudly across group of scattering children at the end of the day):  "How's Charley doing, Ms. Teacher?"

(Ms. Teacher thinks.)

Ms Teacher:  "Pretty good.  (pause)  I mean... he's happy, and that's what counts, right?"

Ummmm... is this a good thing?  How do I interpret that feedback, other than to laugh and sigh and think "oh, I SO know how you feel!".

Week #1, over less than an hour.  Phew.
