Chris has been working like a trooper at the house 'un-doing'. You know... that stage when you're not yet adding to the house? You're still taking away? Well, he's doing a lot of it. It's reminiscent of our last house, but with more charm (and more work).
It's amazing what taking off wallpaper and taking down curtains does to a room. The living room is transformed!
Remember the gold wallpaper and the velvet drapes?
Yeah... they're gone.
Hey! I'm not saying it's pretty progress!
And the floors that started like this...
Now look like this!
Oh mid-century renovations! What were you thinking with your strange asbestos-vinyl-tiling of wood floors and acoustic dropped ceilings?
Little man Sam already knows which room is his. It's the one that's been totally stripped bare. No more yellow plaid wallpaper for you, dude.
And the ensuite in the master bedroom is meeting it's end.
Those pearlescent tiles turned out to be acrylic! Hilarious! (The stack behind are the ceiling tiles removed from that room alone.)
That's the house-y update for now. Good work, hubby! Keep it up.
Anyone want some slightly used velvet drapes?
