The salmon are running!

This is round two, as we saw hundreds of them a couple weeks ago.  I wish I could get a picture that really shows what it's like to watch them in the river...it's so, so cool.  I could watch them fight their way upstream for hours, but the boys are nearly as interested as I am.

 They are, however, very interested in the puddles on the walk there.

 And, of course, a little danger and excitement never hurt things! (Again with the pirate face from Charley!  Or maybe he was splashed in the eye by a passing salmon?)

Here's a photo from the OptiTackle website that shows you what the local fish look like.  Now, imagine sitting near the edge of the water and watching these guys swimming by a few feet from your toes.  Are you understanding my excitement now?

Try as I might, all I could get a picture of was... um... water! 

 

 There's a fish in this shot... Do you see it?  There in the middle?  Yeah.  Okay.  Forget it.  I tried.
