Without Mom and Dad

Without parents, the boys do just fine.  Especially if the temporary caregivers are Granny and Poppa and Auntie Naynay, with Evy in tow.

Chris and I had a date-day and went to a great estate auction.  We came home with quite a few new bits and pieces for the future home but still managed to keep control and not acquire the dreaded 'auction fever'.

The boys spent the morning in Millbrook for the Scarecrow Festival.  They jumped on the bouncy castle, decorated cupcakes and built bat-houses.  They also enjoyed the company of lil' cuz Evy.  Sam asks me every single morning if we're going to see her, when, where, how long, etc.

Brave, brave adult fingers seen here.

Good ol' fashioned country fun.

Aren't little kids with hammers just adorable?  I suppose we will have to hang the bat boxes up...  I do have a phobia of bats, but only when they're indoors.  I will hope the hanging the bat houses (outside) will encourage them to stay there.  ('Cuz my new joint just screeeeeeeeeams 'bats in the belfry', doesn't it?).
