December, ie: winter, is upon us

We had a full-fledged blizzard in Po-Ho today.  It was rainy and 7 degrees when I dropped the boys off and then was 0 and snowing like crazy by 10:30.  The kids were delighted, if a bit soaked.

I guess I'll have to face the fact that the 'lake effect' doesn't entirely eliminate the snow season.  (Although there might be slightly less days in the -20's).  I think I'll splurge and buy myself winter tires for the first time, since I seem to be hitting ol' country roads quite a bit more than when I lived in downtown Ottawa.

I have very little to update.  Chris wrote a great, if a bit creepy, piece on Randy Quaid this week.   The boys are good.  Sam's head has healed, leaving only a cool-dude scar.  Charley now has a day-glo vest to wear at recess (in case of further off-grounds scampers).  And me?  Not too much.  I re-watched this movie for the fourth time, and declared it, yet again, in my top 10 films ever. (Yes, I am a nerd.  Don't even get me started on Miyazaki!)

To give you something new to look at, here are some moments from Chris' birthday evening.   Yeah, we know how to rock the joint.

Proceedings were delayed slightly by someone pondering on the pot:

'Rock on' face.  (Are you tired of this particular grimace yet?)

Birthday cookies, candles, ice cream, Australian beer, various clutter, cardboard boxes, paper towels and cherry tomatoes:  Everything one needs for a great birthday celebration.

Hope life is treating you kindly.  Enjoy the last month of the year.  Cra-zay!

(I'm starting the bidding with; the big lebowski, american splendor, down by law, persepolis and um, brain stopped working, will think of more soon, + will ask uncle charley who is always good for this kind of thing!)
