To the mothers of boys
It's a generalization, but boys typically have a harder time learning the art of fine motor control, ie: writing skills. I see little girls in Charley's class writing out their names with confidence. Charley does not have this mastered. Not by a long stretch.
The above effort was done so that we might have a name to affix to the Valentines he's giving out this year. I thought if he wrote out the letters I would be able to cut them out and assemble them into a recognizable name. (Because, please, Charley does not feel the need to write them in order. Or orient them the same way. Or, even, write them all on the same page. This effort was spread out over 4 pages!)
I figured I could print them out and we could stick them to the Valentines. Surely, that's fair!? I mean, it would take exactly one hundred years for him to sign each one of the 24 cards, and I'm pretty sure at the end of it Charley and I would both be in some kind of facility. (Jail? Asylum? Children's Aid? Not sure which...)
So, there you go: 'Signed' valentines for everyone!
Now, should I attach candy as well? Hmmm, sugared up Kindergarteners.

The big A is my favourite. The kid's got style.
ReplyDeleteNO CANDY! (Sorry for shouting, but we don't need any more energy of that kind in our house. It can only lead to no good ;o)
