Thanksgiving Traditions

Our Thanksgiving has the usual traditions of turkey, pie and excess, but also includes a strange addition.  Chris, joined by 3 others this year, has a tradition of jumping in the lake at the cottage.  The water can't be more than about 10 degrees celcius (50 for you Yanks) but it's invigorating from what I hear!

The trees were blocking my view a bit, so no 'hang-time' shots this year, but some amusing 'trying-to-escape-the-water' and 'I-just-don't-wanna-die' pics from the long swim to shore.  Brrrrrr!

Granny Barb declared them to be 'darn fools' and stayed in the cottage.

The march to the cliff:
'The Fear' is evident in this shot.

Blessed, blessed towel.

Dora on the laptop during dinner.   The kids stuffed themselves silly before the meal and it gave me a whole 20 minutes of excessive eating/chatting with grown-ups time.  Lovely.  Nice, also, to see that it reduces them to drooling idiots.  Oh well... As Uncle David said, it's all about weighing the pro's and con's.

Hope your day was as funny and sunny and yummy as mine was.  Missed you though, Uncle Phil!  (Phil was here for the weekend, but turned down our invitation to join us for the chaos.  Fool!  The boys are greatly saddened to have had him back for a few days and them lost him again).
