Sam and I had a great time visiting with the extended family. My cousin Matt was there with his wife Drothia and two cute kids, Thomas and Lea. I'm always confused about cousin-ship... does that make Sam, Thomas and Lea second cousins? Third? Oh well, who cares; they're cousins!
Sam and Evy (and Jack!) were their usual insane selves, and poor, sweet Thomas learned much from those maniacs. Sam's new 'princess hair' seems to have given him new special powers, like extra-loudness and extra-big jumping on furniture. Lovely.
John and Joan's house is so beautiful and filled with treasures. It's always scary to have pre-schoolers tearing around and investigating. Here they were scaling furniture in order to get a better look at the cake on display. Sam is demonstrating his famous excited-jazz-hands position:
Such a cute bunch: Sam, Thomas, Lea, Evy, Jack
I like Sam's pensive hands. haha I'm sure he was plotting something crafty. It's quite a drive from Peterborough and we were listening to CBC's Vinyl Tap on the drive home. Sam kept saying "I like this music, Mommy!". After about 15 minutes he said "I can't see anything!" and then started snoring. Hilarious. Carried him in sleeping, winter coat and boots removed without the fluttering of an eyelash.
Thanks to John and Joan for opening their house to the madness. We enjoyed ourselves greatly and ate like kings (and queens). Julie (and Rik), you were missed.
Sorry, but can't help laughing at the big green coat inside. New?
