Well... we're definitely at the 'stripped out' stage. The above photo is the amazing view of the stair 'niche' (seen from the
right side here). Can you imagine all of this being done with handtools and patience?! Amazing.
With new wiring, heating, insulation and some plumbing on the horizon, it's will be a great money saver for the tradespeople to have such access. But, believe me, I'll be glad when it starts to look 'pretty' again.
In this shot you can see between the master bedroom (foreground) and Charley's room beyond. The existing under-the-stair closet will be closed in from the master bedroom side to add bigger closets. And, top secret stuff here: It's going to be turned into a secret room for Charley. (Think Harry Potter!). The access will be through a hidden door in his closet. I hope he loves it, because I would have LOST MY MIND if I'd had a super-cool secret clubhouse when I was a kid. Yay!
It's fun to dream about such things at this point. Can't even wait!
Snowstorm here at the moment, which will make retrieving my children from their grandparent sleepover extravaganza a little difficult. I'm sure they're having a super great time. (The kids I mean... ha!)
