It's been a while since I updated on the house front. This past week was one of the most exciting weeks yet. I think there were 15 guys working on the house on Friday.
Roof, phase 2, is in full swing. Say goodbye to the green cedar roof, my friends! Its era is over. Sure, that roof is costing us as much as a small cottage, but it will be nice when it's done!
Also, the drywall has begun! This is one of the most rewarding points in a reno, I think. All of a sudden you have lovely white walls again! My brother and his crew are doing the job and I'm so happy. Plus, the local Home Hardware delivered the boards to the room for an extra $10. Now, it's very rare in life when you can state things with certainty, but that $10 was, officially, the best money ever spent. (By the way... it scared me a lot that we ordered 100 + sheets for the 3rd floor alone!)
The ol' house hit a turning point this week and started to feel like a house again. Like, I might get to live there this year. And, let me tell you, I'm never, ever moving again. Or not for 25 years.
Here are some shots to give you an idea of the hub-bub:
Here's a view of the new 3rd floor guest bathroom. It's pretty great... I think it's 6 feet wide and 15 feet long. It's going to be really cool.
Yay yay yay. I'm pretty darn happy. And it must be stated that my hard working husband is the reason it's at this point. He's worked like a demon just about every day since we got the house. When it's done, I'm going to let him sleep in for about a year.

So if you're never moving again that means you can take alot of the stuff that's left over from your parents' and my parents' moves, right?!?
ReplyDeletesweet drywall...
OMG, I was DYING for an update. This is, officially, the coolest project I've ever known about.
