January round-up

Or, at least, a round-up so far.  Strange January, just like last year.  No snow, weird temperatures... I figure, if it's going to be cold, we might as well have snow to play in!  Right?!

We've been busy, as always.  Chris has been away all week, so it's been the usual scurry here and there.  Life sure is easy with both of them at school though!  I get a lot more done these days, that's for sure.

Here's a few shots of the month so far.

Holiday wrap-up

Many people's holidays have been over for days, but officially ours ends tomorrow.  Kids are back to school on Monday and Chris re-enters the crazy world of work and travel.  It's been a fantastic 16 day break and I'm sorry to see it end.

2013 now, and I suppose I'm supposed to be making resolutions.  I think I'd rather just keep on with the pledge to organize the house (since it's never been done since we moved in!) and keep things chugging along here.  I don't really understand these amazing working-out-of-the-house moms... I feel like my days are full keeping things organized without working at a job.  Salute to all you heroic women!

Here's a little photo collection from the last 2 + weeks.

Big O!

My sweet new nephew, Owen James, was born on Monday morning.  He weighed in at 10 lb 5 oz, which makes his lovely mother my new hero.

Everyone is doing well and I wish the whole family sleep and peace and ease.  (It could happen!)

My cute nephew and my cute brother.

Here's a picture of Ben, aka Daddy, on his birthday.  I think there's a little similarity there, don't you?  At least, the giant hands are the same!

Fun for four

Melissa brought the boy-cousins down for a rowdy 24 hour visit yesterday/today.  Nothing like have a 3, 4, 5 and 6 year old boy here at the same time!  The kids were over the moon to see each other and we packed in a great deal of fun despite the short timeline.

Took them down to the beach, which they seemed to enjoy and grabbed a few, chaotic group shots.  I honestly don't know if it's possible for 8 busy eyes to all look my way for a single photo.  They sure are cute though!

One of my favourite moments of the visit is when Hayden (see cool-dude-glasses-guy above) fashioned a super-hero cape for Kismet.  As you do.

I'm not sure what prompted this activity, other than the fact that the Ottawa boys were quite amused by here gargoyle-y face and silliness.

The pictures I got of Hayden attempting to adhere the super-cape to Kismet's back made me laugh out loud.  I love the shots were it looks as though she's screaming "what's happening to meeeeee??!?!".  Also, the creative spelling pleases me greatly.

It's official that she is the best-humoured dog in the world.

Can't you just hear her 'woo woo woo-ing'?

I won't lie.  I was asleep on the couch 15 minutes after they'd gone.  Thankfully, Sam held down the fort.  (And Kismet the Super-Dog, of course!)

Familial cuteness

Five cute cousins, sitting on a couch.

Five first cousins born in 5 years... and 4 of them crazy boys.  I think, though, you can see that Evy really has no trouble holding her own.
