Holy Chinook!

I know I'm teetering on the edge of becoming "that crazy fish lady", but holy smokes, folks!  The salmon!  The freeeekin' salmon!

I can't promise this will be the last on the subject, but I'm sure it doesn't get better than this.  After noticing they were out in great numbers this morning, Sam and I went up to the fish ladder this afternoon figuring we might see a few up there.

Here's what I saw when I got there:

Yeah.  Those black spot?  Fish!  Huge, crazy, maniac fish.

I tried to manage the fine art of taking photos while ensuring that Sam wasn't actually swimming with the fish, and was lucky to get a few good shots.  The jump was about 4 feet today, so it should give you an idea of their size.

Can you imagine the shots I could have had with a real camera.  Ol' Point and Shoot did okay though...

 This guy was having a break in the shallows.  All you needed to catch fish today was a net!

And this guy?  Well, let's say he was excited.  Like, "I'm not having a nap today" excited.  Oh well... totally worth it.
